As we age, we need to exercise to stay fit and strong. It is very important to get some kind of exercise daily. Our exercises to music are ideal for Seniors, and encourage us to get motivated, to increase our fitness and strength.
Remember, any exercise is better than no exercise. Take care, have fun. Helen Jeffree A big welcome to the new faces that have joined our group this year! Welcome back to the old faces too! It is very encouraging to know that so many of us want to get a little more active and improve our fitness.
Our exercises to music are designed for Seniors, so they are very low impact and very enjoyable. You can be as energetic as you like - remember - the more effort you put in, the more energy you burn up. See you every Monday, starting at 9.30am sharp. Seniors building. Helen Jeffree It is so good that most restrictions have been lifted, we are out of lockdown and able to exercise again as a class.
A special “Thank-you” must go to Elly Smith for her efforts in providing the music for our class, and “Thank-you” to Lin Ryan for her help preparing the hall every week. Much appreciated Elly and Lin. Our last class for the year will be on Mon 13th December, for the Christmas break, and will resume again on Mon 31st January 2022. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season, and may the New Year be kind to you all. Helen Jeffree Good News!
Exercises for Fun Class will resume again next Monday 1st November, now that the restrictions have been lifted. You are required to show proof of double vaccination of COVID 19 before you can enter, either by showing your paper version of “Certificate of Vaccination” from your Doctor, or by showing the COVID 19 Digital Certificate on your mobile phone. Either one is acceptable. Helen Hoping everyone is keeping fit and well, during this time of lockdown. It’s a great excuse to do a few odd jobs that have been waiting for a time like this to be done!!
Maybe you have had the chance to do the gardening, to stop those Arteries hardening, or taken a walk around our beautiful Benalla Lake. Whatever happens, I hope we are all back together soon, and enjoying our Exercise Group once again. Have fun. Helen Jeffree It is so exciting to know that thankfully, Elly Smith, one of our Class members has spent some time experimenting with her equipment, and discovered it is possible to control the music for our Class, as well as being able to participate in the Exercise Class, and everything is working very successfully, so far.
Elly has her Smart watch matched up with her computer, to make it all happen. Quite amazing technology really! We all know that as we age, it is very important to exercise, so our Class is a great way to get motivated and increase our fitness, as well as socialising and having a laugh or two along the way. Hopefully we will be out of lockdown soon, and we will be able to meet again on Mondays at 9.30am in the Seniors Hall. Stay safe. Helen Jeffree Our regular Monday morning Exercise group is still going strong.
Even on these cold mornings we all benefit from starting the day with some exercise. Our wonderful “Music Man” Mel, has retired for the time being, due to ill health. We thank him for his patience and all his efforts, so far. Much appreciated Mel! We are so lucky that Lin Ryan has kindly volunteered to be the “Music Maker” in his place, for the time being. Thank you Lin! A few of our Class participants have left us for warmer climates over the Winter months, even though they may encounter COVID 19 restrictions. We wish them safe travels. We are still required to sign in at the entrance door, and to also tick off our name on the U3a Attendance Roll, every day we attend. Keep safe. Have fun. Helen Jeffree Our Exercises for Fun group have now returned to the Seniors Hall, after holding our classes for the months of February and March in the local Town Hall, while the Seniors Hall was being freshly painted. Mel and I have been researching how we can all keep in contact without breaking any rules, in these unusual times. Presently, we are working on a programme that could possibly connect us all to our Exercise Class, through the Internet. It involves you downloading a free app called “Zoom cloud” on your mobile phone, or your tablet, iPad or laptop at home. If we can get the programme to run successfully, we will let you know more. In the meantime, stay safe. Helen Jeffree What a wonderful group of people we have attending the Exercise class.
