Hello friends, I was asked if I can cook. Unfortunately, my answer is not very good. My cooking is very simple. I have always been cared for by someone in my life until I was in my old age. First from my mother, during the apprenticeship years there was always family contact and after our marriage I was spoiled by a wonderful woman who did a home economics apprenticeship in her youth and later managed our holidays on the farm. In our time she was the queen of the house and everyone felt the warmth and comfort she gave us. It was a shock for me when I was suddenly alone and had to take care of myself. I soon learned that a wok is the easiest way to cook and requires very little washing up. Meat or eggs, vegetables and potatoes all go into the wok and after half an hour I can puree it all, sprinkle on a small handful of grated cheese and turn off the heat of the oven. 15 minutes later I can eat my meal. Sometimes I make pancakes with flour, eggs, raisins and milk. In the winter I occasionally make pea or lentil soup with smoked pork knuckles which give the soup a good taste. I also add a potato and a carrot. When I run out of potatoes, I've learned how to cook rice. I don't know many would be happy with that but I'm happy with it and sometimes I go out and order something else. Would you write a little letter about how you cook?
