With fine weather and the promise of some pleasant exploring, fourteen walkers assembled at Jamieson and set off along the river walk. While the autumn colours were not quite as blazing as expected, there were enough for our photographers to capture the day, and for the group to enjoy just under 5kms of rambling around this historic town-followed by a welcome coffee.
Wednesday 1st May: Winton Wetlands Orienteering
The planned Cherry walk at Bright has had to be delayed, and Bev has offered instead to take us orienteering at the Wetlands, an activity previously done with Benalla Bushwalking Club, and which promises an interesting angle on getting our walk for the morning. We will then enjoy lunch at the Hub cafe, with the chance of a bit more wandering afterwards.
Meet at the Seniors’ carpark, Fawckner Dve to leave at 9.30am. I will need confirmation for lunch by Sunday 28/4 - text, email or phone message on 0407823031 or [email protected]. Car sharing is available for a small contribution.
Wednesday 5th June: Goulburn River and Shepparton Botanic Gardens
This will be the walk previously planned for March, walking along the Goulburn and picnicking at the interesting Botanic Gardens, which offer shorter walks and views across the Goulburn Valley.
Meet, with confirmation to Julie--as above-- to leave at 9.30am.
