Ten walkers started the September 2 walk from a delightful picnic area in the Northern Warby Ranges. A broad granite outcrop gave great views to the north. We crossed Tower road to follow the ridge to Mount Killawarra, where the views were even better. Snow could be seen on the mountains, and the Spur-wing wattles were just starting to flower. Also seen were many Early Nancys, Leopard Orchids and multitudes of blue Stypandra glauca. The threatened rain held off, and a good day was had by all. The distance was about 4km.
Coming up on October 7: We will walk in the Reef Hills to enjoy the wildflowers. The track or tracks will depend on the best display on the day, but will be quite easy.
