Sometimes things work out for the best! Some problems with the Killawarra track saw a last-minute switch to the previously cancelled Friends’ Track walk. The result was a memorable day in lovely sunshine, a great end to our walking year.

We somehow took the long way round, we were treated to some spectacular grass trees growing on the rock faces around us.
Consultation and map studying with the more experienced bushwalkers in the group got us back onto the main track, and Kwat Kwat’s view over the valleys in the sunshine made for a welcome rest break.
The group split for the return walk to Wenham’s, the more energetic group completing the Friends’ loop and the rest of us taking the main track. A pleasant lunch in the shade, with afternoon tea at the Hub Cafe on the way home, finished an interesting and enjoyable day.

Our final meeting will be a lunch at the Tatong Tavern on Wednesday 6th December at 12.30. After lunch, Andi will take us on a stroll around Tatong to stretch our legs and see the sights of this lovely village.
