I would like to thank the U3A members who have been part of the Meditation group over the past few years. I hope you enjoyed the group and achieved the relaxation and calm that we all strive for. I am taking a break for a while and this group will not be continuing in 2023. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Meditation is held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12.00noon to 1.00pm Come along and enjoy an hour of relaxation and mindfulness – it is so good.
Caroline Sims Meditation has a calming effect on our body and our mind. In today’s stressful climate it is becoming a mainstay for many of us, helping to maintain blood pressure and cholesterol by relaxing our body and our minds, releasing tension when deep breathing, circulating oxygen throughout our bodies. All welcome.
Caroline Sims The meditation session is a wonderful way to start the week, grounding oneself with the benefit of Mindfulness, helping you to face the week ahead.
Meditation is held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12.00noon to 1.00pm. Caroline Sims Both Caroline and Heather were convenors of the two sessions this month. U3a members are most welcome to be part of this group with is held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12.00noon to 1.00pm. It is a time to relax both our body and mind and enjoy the serenity that meditation brings.
Heather Wallace Meditation has been a shared group this month, with Heather extending the benefits of Meditation to the group, followed by Caroline sharing the benefits of relaxation and body scan.
Take an hour out of your day on the first and third Monday of each month at 12 noon and enjoy the benefits of Meditation and relaxation. Heather Wallace Meditation was not held this month due to the Easter and Anzac break, however we will resume classes on Monday 2nd May at 12.00 noon.
Caroline and Heather Whilst Caroline is away, Heather Wallace has been guiding the Meditation group.
We have broken the hourly session into a couple of areas. Firstly, using Mindfulness to fully experience the present moment while noticing (without judgement) our thoughts and feelings. We then have a short exercise session to stretch our muscles followed by a session of Meditation which allows the body and mind to relax. We take our mind to the mountains, or to the sea or into a forest, followed by a relaxation session with a full body scan. At the end of the session all who attend leave feeling relaxed and more aware of their presence and wellbeing. Meditation will not be held on Easter Monday, 18th April 2022. Heather Wallace It is so good to be able to put an hour aside to let the body and mind relax - meditating to bring us into the moment.
This semester Meditation groups will have another leader, Heather Wallace, for a number of sessions when Caroline is not available. If anyone wishes to come to the group, it is held the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 12.00 noon in U3A Room 2 at the Seniors building. You will be most welcome. Wear comfortable clothing. You can take your shoes off and bring a cushion to make the chair more comfortable if you wish. You are sitting down all times, you do not lay on the floor, so there are no worries about getting up. Caroline Sims, Heather Wallace Meditation's new time slot for 2022 timetable - 1st & 3rd Monday 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm U3A Room 2 - with the first meetings on 7th & 21st February.
