On Tuesday 9th April Nicole McFarlane as Secretary, Anne Nelson as Course Co-ordinator and myself participated in a Regional U3A meeting by Zoom.
- U3A Network are going to use State Government funds to pay for a music licence which will cover copyright for the music used by all groups of all U3A branches. The music covered is for the Ukelele group, the Recorder Group, the Singing Groups, the Exercise Group and also the Film Group.
- Tax reporting laws for Incorporated groups such as ourselves are changing on 1st July 2024. U3A Network have engaged a lawyer to give an opinion on how these changes will affect individual U3As such as Benalla. This information has been forwarded to the U3A Benalla Committee, and they will act on the information provided at the next Committee meeting.
- The Victorian U3A Conference will be held in Melbourne in early October 2024. Network are paying the Registration costs of one delegate per U3A to encourage participation by all U3A branches.
A small housekeeping item. Twice this month I have been contacted by morning groups which have found a window open in Room 1. Also, another group found the heater on one morning. Could everyone please check that windows are closed and that the heater is off at the end of each session.
