U3A member Neville Gibb was our guest speaker in August. Neville took us on a very enjoyable tour of London and we each had a map of the London Underground rail system which we could follow as Neville took us from place to place. Our collective travel bug was well and truly awakened as Neville spoke of London which is full of history and has such a lot to offer the tourist. .
Students from the Flexible Learning Centre who are doing the Barista Course provided tea, coffee or hot chocolate for morning tea
At our September Meet and Mingle to be held on September 21st the guest speaker will be Chris Gill from the Sentencing Advisory Council who will present a session called ‘You be the Judge’. In the session details of an actual crime will be given and we will be the judge. Following our deliberations Chris will reveal whether the person was found guilty or not and the reasons why. A similar session to this was held several years ago but this session will involve an entirely different crime.
About Meet and Mingle
This is a general social gathering of members to have morning tea, a chat, and sometimes have a guest speaker. It is not a formal business meeting but a short time will be allocated for news from the Executive and program groups.
