A very interesting and valued Maori designed cup and saucer from New Zealand by Royal Doulton, a beautiful salmon coloured set bought for a glory box many years ago. Two children’s cups and saucers with rabbits and ducks and a very pretty typical floral design set including a milk jug and a sugar bowl.
A 1977 Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee set with a set of different pictures on each one. An Interesting hand painted Chinese set and a Scottish Royal Dalton featuring the Thistle were much admired.
Part of a Meakin dinner set began a discussion of the colours in the kitchen during the 1970’s with much reminiscing. A lovely set of the always popular blue and white along with the dainty floral patterns with gold rims were displayed.
We decided that teapots were necessary given the size of the cups compared to the mugs we use today.
