The Cassini family have been making wine the same way for three generations in Australia and many more generations before that in Tuscany Italy. Originally the wine was only made for consumption by family and friends until Gino decided to “go public” in the 60’s.
The wines are made using traditional, preservative free methods. At least in theory no preservatives means less chance of a hang over. We didn’t test the theory, but enough wine was purchased to test it at home.
The group had a very enjoyable time sitting in the beautiful winery garden while Linda served generous tastings of various wines.
As always, the food at the Mountain View view was superb. The restaurant is owned and operated by another well known local winery family the Pizzini. The interior of the hotel retains an ambience reflecting over 100 yeas of history
