John and some other members being absent overseas, we had a compliment of three members. We decided to have a 'fun' session. We listened to works by Mozart, Rachmaninov and Handel. We rediscovered Australian pianist, Eileen Joyce, singers Kiri Te Kanawa and Nina Simone, finishing with Paul McCartney.
Doug Geeson conducted the session. He presented a number of Australian composers. He also showed a DVD entitled Australian Voices, which was performed in Wangaratta recently.
The second half of the session was a real treat. Doug and Marjory recently went on a cruise, called 'The Performing Arts Bravo’. Some of the artists who performed on board the ship and presented on DVD, were Anthony Warlow, James Morrison, David Hobson, Liz Calloway, the Gregorian Brothers, and others.
