This reminded us that voting is still in train for the ABC's 'Swoon' Collection. a page of selections from different ABC presenters is available on their website. We listened to Maurizi Pollini playing the adagio from Brahms Piano Concerto No 1 which was Leigh Sales' selection.
Bev's contribution to the group sharing included showing the video of the Don Quixote ballet to the music of Minsk (refer earlier entry) and an introduction to the music of the Soweto String quartet and the CD 'Zebra Crossing'..... here's a You Tube video of the Soweto String Quartet (playing in a more upbeat environment than usual)
Doug introduced us to the extremely talented euphonium player David Child showing us a DVID of David playing with the Cory Works band conducted by his father Robert Childs. Doug talked about the role of the colliery/works bands and reminded us of the film 'Brassed Off'.
