The U3A group had a bus trip on Thursday 26th April to Ballarat Botanical Gardens followed by a beautiful lunch at Pipers Restaurant, then went onto Lambley Nursery & Gardens. Coming up - On May 24th we will visit the farm garden of Lyn and Peter Tanner, 222 Quinn Road, Goorambat. We will have morning tea. Please bring a mug and a small plate to share. Hot water, tea, coffee and milk will be provided. Then we are off to Devenish and Goorambat to see the Wall to Wall Art. Lunch at the Railway Hotel, Goorambat. We are awaiting firm details but have it on good authority from Gwen that in February the Garden Appreciation Group will be visiting two gardens in Warrenbayne, to be followed in March by a a visit to a number of Wangaratta nurseries. Meet at Gwen Turner’s in Arundel Street (behind the Drill Hall) for morning tea Thursday 23 Nov at 10.30 a.m. before either walking or driving to 28 and 30 Thomas Street for two gardens.
We will then have a picnic lunch in the Benalla Rose Gardens (bring a folding chair). As this will be our last outing for the year, we hope to see everyone there. Meet in the car park behind the Seniors ready to leave at 9.30am. We will visit Valda Martin’s farm and cherry orchard in Ruffy. Cherry trees will be in flower. Valda has a great display of patchwork and quilts, as well as her garden and orchard. Something for everyone. As usual bring morning tea to share, tea, coffee, milk will be provided, Valda will have hot water and cups for us. Lunch at Ruffy store $20 per person, dietary needs are catered for. November 23 Meet at Gwen Turner’s in Arundel Street for morning tea at 10.30, before either walking or driving around to Thomas Street gardens.

September 28 – Rich Glen Olive Estate Garden and Cafe, Yarrawonga
Due to an accident to the owner of the garden we were to visit there has been a change of venue to the Rich Glen Olive Estate at Yarrawonga ....
Meet at the car park at the back of the Seniors building at 9.30 a.m. Please bring something for morning tea to share, tea, coffee and milk will be provided, but bring your own mug and hot water in a thermos.
Morning tea will be in Yarrawonga at one of their parks or on the foreshore. We will then move onto Rich Glen Olive Estate Garden and Café 734 Murray Valley Highway Yarrawonga. There is a very nice garden to see with a gift shop. Lunch will be in the Café at the Estate. October 26 - Ruffy Meet in the car park behind the Seniors at 9.30. A delightful lunch was served at the Flour Mill in Euroa. Our June meeting is at the Library with a speaker from the Regent Honeyeater Group. Then on July 27 we meet in our new rooms at the Senior Citizen building for a talk by Betty Lindsay who will take us on a garden tour of the Baltic States and Ukraine. Meet at Benalla Rose Garden near the Royal Hotel at 7 a.m. Morning tea on arrival at 10.00 a.m. Tour of house and garden.
Bishopcourt is the residence of the Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne. Facing the Fitzroy Gardens, it has a beautiful English garden. Concluding at approximately midday we will lunch at Poynton’s Nursery Café in Essendon after a short time in the Fitzroy Gardens. We can only take 30 to Bishopscourt. Cost is $46 for coach and morning tea, tour of house and garden. Lunch at own cost. We will need payment as possible. Three spaces still available at time of going to press. April 27th First Garden: Meet at 9.30 at 56 Grant Drive, Benalla. Jackie has a large garden with lots of trees and garden beds. Please bring morning tea to share (own cup and hot water).
