October - cherry blossom, patchwork quilts & lunch at Ruffy

28/10/2017

On October 26 the Garden Appreciation group visited Valda Martin’s farm and cherry orchard at Ruffy. The group enjoyed Valda's display of patchwork and quilts, as well as her garden and orchard, with cherry trees in abundance. Lunch at the Ruffy store was also clearly most enjoyable!  Thank you Sandie for the photos.

Our October and November outings...

20/10/2017

October 26
Meet in the car park behind the Seniors ready to leave at 9.30am. We will visit Valda Martin’s farm and cherry orchard in Ruffy.  Cherry trees will be in flower.  Valda has a great display of patchwork and quilts, as well as her garden and orchard.  Something for everyone.
As usual bring morning tea to share, tea, coffee, milk will be provided, Valda will have hot water and cups for us.  Lunch at Ruffy store $20 per person, dietary needs are catered for.

November 23

Meet at Gwen Turner’s in Arundel Street for morning tea at 10.30, before either walking or driving around to Thomas Street gardens.
  • John & Betty Lindsay – 28 Thomas Street
  • Neil and Lois Smith – 30 Thomas Street.
We will then have a picnic lunch in the Benalla Rose Gardens (bring a folding chair).
As this will be our last outing for the year, we hope to see everyone there.  We have seen some lovely gardens during 2017 and plans are being made for 2018.
