Meet at Flexible Learning Car Park 10.00 a.m. We will be going to 322 Goudie Road Chesney Vale to view Belvedere Garden which has spectacular views of Winton Wetlands and sculptures. Please bring morning tea to share and your own cup. Coffee, tea hot water will be provided. Lunch at Winton Wetlands café. March 23rd Coach trip to Bishopcourt Garden-House in Clarendon Street, East Melbourne and a visit to Fitzroy Gardens. Meet at Benalla Rose Garden near the Royal Hotel at 7 a.m. Morning tea on arrival at 10.00 a.m. Tour of house and garden. Bishopcourt is the residence of the Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne. Facing the Fitzroy Gardens, it has a beautiful English garden. Concluding at approximately midday we will lunch at the Pavilion Café in the Fitzroy Gardens. Please register early as we can only take 30 to Bishopscourt. Cost is $46 for coach and morning tea, tour of house and garden. Lunch at own cost. We will need payment by February or before. Lou has two new green houses in her back yard and will have perennials and plants grown from seed from all around the world. Lou will talk about growing from seed and plants will be for sale. We are going to visit Joan McIntosh’s garden at 17 Lower Stanley Road, Beechworth. Meet at the Flexible Learning car park at 9.30 am. Hot water, coffee, tea, sugar and milk will be provided for morning tea. It would be appreciated if participants could bring a plate. Lunch will be at the George Kerford restaurant at the old Mayday Hills. Thursday June 23rd Meet at Flexible Learning Car Park 10am. (New Venue) Victorian Flower Growers,14 Church Street, Benalla. Lunch at Beechworth Honey Experience. June 23rd - Meet at the Benalla Flexible Learning Centre’s car park in Barkly Street at 10.00 am. We will visit the Victorian Grower’s site. They specialise in beautiful flowering perennial, ornamental trees, etc. All grown just off Mansfield Road. More information will be available in the next newsletter. Feb 25th We will visit the garden of Heather & Max Roll, 39 Grant Drive, Benalla 5762 5569. Lunch at Green & Grow. Meet at Heather’s 10 am. BYO morning tea and mug. Hot water, tea, coffee, milk etc. will be available. March 24th Easter Thursday 10 am. Meet at Shirley Kearney’s, 9 Reilly Avenue Benalla for morning tea. BYO morning tea and mugs. Hot water, tea, coffee, milk etc. will be available. Then we will visit Lorraine and Ray Wittingslow’s garden 15 Reilly Avenue. We’ll decide about lunch on the day. April 28th Bus trip to Dame Nellie Melba’s Gardens, Coldstream. Meet at Rose Gardens at 7 am. Cost: Bus, Garden Tour and Morning Tea $55 pp. Then to Chocolate Factory and café for lunch--own cost. We will need money in by 16th March. Money can be left at RedB4 bookshop addressed to Gwen Turner – please put your name and U3A Garden Application on the envelope. There have been many early bookings already - with only two seats left as at 23/2, we will be starting a waiting list.
