Join us at Games on Monday May 6th at 1:30 pm for a friendly afternoon.
Dorothy Webber As two times have been advertised for Games, the official time will now be 1.30 pm. I hope this will solve the confusion. Unfortunately I won’t be at the April games, hope to make it in May.
Dorothy Webber We enjoyed Scrabble,Travelling Australia (lots of reminiscing when landing on places we’ve been) & Trivial Pursuit. Great fun.
Dorothy Webber A small group of enthusiastic players have been enjoying trivia. We have had our last for the year-think about joining us next year for lots of fun and laughter!
Dorothy Webber A Games group is meeting again!
The group meets on the 4th Wednesday from 10 to 12 midday & would welcome any donations of board games. The games mornings to date have been thoroughly entertaining and great fun. All welcome! Dorothy Webber The Games Group ran for many years to mid 2016. Convened by Dorothy Webber, it has just been reintroduced on the 4th Wednesday from 10 am to 12 midday. It is using the timeslot previously used by the Recorder Group who now meet at North East Artisans.
Beginning with board games, the group has potential overtime to fill the hole left by the previous Games group which offered 'indoor games of the non-physical variety' including cards, scrabble and mahjong. Dorothy Webber/Bev Lee Program Committee Last year Wendy Rush, the very warm and supportive convenor of the Games group, decided to follow up other interests in 2016. Unfortunately we were not able to replace Wendy. This, alongside a lower numbers of participants than usual making it difficult to offer a variety of games, led to the decision not to continue 'Games' for the remainder of 2016.
If you, or someone you know, would like to 'put their cap in the ring' as a convenor of 'Games' in 2017, here is a 'job description'. . "A volunteer convenor is sought for the Games group which meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 1.30 to 3.30 in W4. Duties involve setting up the room with card table/s; distributing games; arranging for milk for coffee break; setting up urn and of course welcoming and supporting members. There is a perk to the position –the work also involves playing games such as cards; scrabble and mahjong with other members for two hours! Some lifting of light card tables required. If you are interested or would like further information, please call Terry Case on 5762 1700." It would be possible to offer the group monthly not fortnightly and the timeslot would need to be renogotiated. Wendy will not be available for the last session in June but will be back to continue the good work in July.
Wendy will contact Games participants to let them know what will happen for the June timetable. Games group members were deep in thought when an impromptu visit for a photo shoot caught then in action. Anyone for a caption writing competition? Welcome to Games 2015! If you enjoy Scrabble, Mahjong or other popular games, come along and join us.

Cards '500'The card game of 500 is a simple social game to play with groups of 4 players or more.
Playing cards is a fun way of enjoying other's company without physical exertion. Our U3A group of card players has many laughs and fun at our sessions with easy to understand rules. Players do not have to have had previous experience as you will be taught how to play by others present. We are a friendly and welcoming group where the focus is on having fun in a mildly competi-tive environment. There is no gambling or money involved. The game is flexible and can be configured to accommodate any number of participants. This allows for flexibility if you cannot come along on a regular basis. Convenor & Contact DetailsDoug Smith
