An enjoyable June trip to Chiltern, coming up - Mokoan Hub

29/6/2021

June - National Trust House Lake View, Chiltern.  Sally our Guide was wonderful, and we all found the history of the family who had lived there very interesting. Lunch at Bird ‘n Bike was delicious, the chocolate fudge brownie with chocolate sauce wowed us all and was definitely ‘4 star’.  The weather was very kind – the sun came out – and all in all we had an enjoyable day.
July - Please call me on 0438627010 if you would like to join us on 22nd July for a winter outing to the Mokoan Hub Café at Winton Wetlands, where we will hear a guest speaker from the Hub and have both morning tea and lunch (Own Cost).  We will be leaving the U3A car park at 10.30 am.

What a lovely day we had at Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne in late April.  I was one of those people that did NOT like Native Plants very much.   Boy, were my eyes opened!    The Garden and landscape, beautiful; meal and service, excellent.  I would highly recommend Royal Botanical Gardens, Cranbourne.

"Benalla's roses are looking fantastic"

2/11/2020

With Mother Nature at her best this spring, Benalla’s roses are looking fantastic.  A must see are the roses  at Rambling Rose café’s car park garden and Benalla’s Rose Gardens.

With the end of year coming up we can look forward to next year.  Hopefully we can visit many lovely gardens once again.  I have missed meeting up with you all.

Happy Gardening!

Benalla Gardens are looking beautiful...

30/9/2020

Benalla Gardens are  looking beautiful, roses and trees back in leaf and the last of the flowering cherries and crab apples are putting n a show.  Shirley Kearney and I were walking past the new Splash Park and had to stop to look it over.  Loved the big red poppies, families will have lots of fun there. Three ducks happened to be in the Lake waiting to have their photo taken.

I have been gardening around the Church garden with Chris, have started a new garden in front of the Parish Centre (Old Court House) just with plants from my garden with the help of some Magpies.

Hope you have time to visit family and friends.  Happy gardening!

Garden Appreciation - 'Spring is here...'

1/9/2020

Hello everyone!

Spring is here 😄, rain, sunshine, beautiful daffodils flowering, pears, pretty annuals and much more.
Gardens are great way to make us feel happy as they are forever changing, we can dream in them, dig  and move plants, weed, walk around, exercise, read, water and feed, and sit while in our Garden.

Stay safe, keep your glass half full.

Shirley and Dan Kearney's lovely sunny courtyard...

27/7/2020

As I am writing the sun is out following a frosty morning.  The photos are of Shirley and Dan Kearney’s lovely sunny courtyard, great place to have a cuppa or read the paper, we all should have one of these spots in our garden.  Pink weeping flowering tree is on the drive.  St. Joseph’s Village is so well landscaped.  Roses, Camelia, Daphne, Gardenia.  Beautifully performed blooms all year round and a group of mixed Citrus trees add interest.

Some of us have been able to meet with family and friends, but no sign of us getting back to visiting Gardens.  Photos are of my garden art by Kevin Green - the little bird is from Beechworth Gallery’s Metal & Garden Sculptures.   Happy Gardening.  Stay Safe!  I miss you all.
