At the March meeting of Investment we looked at the Midcap stocks both for 2017 and also for the first two months of this year. The Mid caps had increased overall last year by 15%, but only a few of them had shown good increases so far in 2018.
John Hanlon provided us with an overview of successful managed funds especially those with interests in the overseas markets.
The month of February was the midyear reporting season for ASX companies. We looked at twenty of the companies and considered their net profit after tax, their dividend and whether any share price increase was sustained after they reported to the market. For a few of these companies other factors which had been announced at the same time as the report were influential on their resulting share price.
The next meeting of Investment will be on Friday 6 April 2018 at 1.30pm in the U3A room at the Seniors Community Centre.
