The numbers of new artists attending 'A Taste of Art' during March increased, with three men attending for the first time.
Their principal interest was to start drawing simple objects such as gum nuts and leaves, vases and other shapes which produced some promising work.
We hope to help them move on to using different mediums such as watercolour, pastel and acrylics in the next couple of months.
The other U3A members who began in February continue to improve in their chosen medium and we would hope to eventually encourage them to enter their paintings in Benalla Hospital and Bouwmeesters bakery.
On Easter Saturday there will be an exhibition at the Senior Citizens Club of art, greeting cards and other craft by the members of the Broken River Painters as well as other exhibitors.
