Two of our leaders have been on the sick list for some weeks. Margaret broke her ankle and is still in recovery mode. We hope to have them both back soon. Brian and Gwen have been in charge and have started preparations for our “Sing Outs”. The Harmony group will be presenting a programme at the monthly dinner at the Hub Cooinda on the 16th. Sept. We will be singing some old favourites and some new songs. “Annie’s Song" and ”Down by the riverside” are sounding really good!

Brian and Gwen have been in charge and have started preparations for our “Sing Outs”. The Harmony group will be presenting a programme at the monthly dinner at the Hub Cooinda on the 16th. Sept. We will be singing some old favourites and some new songs. “Annie’s Song" and "Down by the Riverside” are sounding really good! Brian’s partner and footie songs are progressing well. We now have in our books many great songs that need reviving and Faith and Margaret are doing just that. At our last session, we welcomed a new member, David Palmer. Over a third of our singers are men and this gives great depth to our singing. Best wishes to Gwen Cheetham who is recovering from surgery and a big welcome back to Lois.
We’ve been singing some great new songs. At Harmony group Brian introduced “Down by the riverside" in two parts. This song will be introduced to our main group at the next session. “This is my song” in two parts was taken by Faith and will be a winner. Margaret has taken us to New Zealand and we are now singing “Maori Canoe song” and “Pokarekare Ana.” Our Maori language skills are improving slowly.
Bring along your friends and see what our singing group is like. Leaders have been preparing for the New Year and there will be a few surprises in store. Our first session will, as usual, be the singing of old favourites.
The following mini movie suffers from having been taken by an amateur photographer (me) on a very simple camera in a room with fairly poor acoustics. If you can forgive the sound quality, it does provide a little reminder of a most enjoyable and uplifting concert! Bev Lee
