I've racked my brains and I'm sure we did something about memory but I obviously need more of it.
I look forward to sharing more teasers and facts on brain abilities when we meet at 1:30 on May Day! A diligent dozen deliberated over 25 puzzles which tested across a wide range and we took home the score sheet so we could analyse the weak and strong points of our skills.
Yet another brain-training book I've found suggests a tonic which you might like to road test: a Memory Smoothie which includes carrot, blueberries, beetroot, avocado, almonds or walnuts, lime juice and a slice of fresh ginger. Nearly a dozen of us took up the challenge of re-charging our neurons, though the first word power page nearly destroyed everyone's confidence! However we had some interesting ideas thrown in for discussion and did better on a few visual and creative exercises.
It is well established that new skills can help build brain pathways with benefits for memory, confidence, happiness and even falls prevention. Brain Games will offer a variety of entertaining and informative ways to challenge, inform and exercise your brain. Thus we might solve word, number, shape, picture or logic puzzles, take part in a quiz, brainstorm solutions to a dilemma, draw a picture or maybe even learn to juggle! There will be some time spent viewing DVDs or reading articles which explore such topics as illusions and tricks, dementia, brain repair, gender differences, optimism & pessimism, lateral thinking and creativity.
