She sells her house and shifts to a small beach community near his prison. Here she builds a labyrinth in her garden engaging with neighbours and Jurko, a Serbian stonemason camping out in the national park.
This job changes a number of fractured lives of her neighbours and gives her a purpose while she visits her son who blames her for his predicament. All seek some sort of redemption in this project, and although the labyrinth is never quite finished many lives improve for the better.
Generally enjoyed by our group. Lohrey writes novels with psychological explorations and endings that leave the reader to make their own conclusions.
