To continue the analogy: appetisers courtesy of Francis Poulenc, and Benjamin Britten, entrees by way of Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss, Mains per Gustav Mahler and Antonin Dvorak, and desserts in both sessions provided by Beethoven (of course) comprised the menus.
