Fun and friendship with Lifeball!

22/4/2015

Lifeball has been great recently.  We had three new members early on, and they loved their introduction to our fun game.  We held our Fun and Friendship Day in March, attended by 50 players from Albury, Myrtleford, Rutherglen, Mansfield and Eildon, and a super day was enjoyed by everyone.  The lunch was superb - of course!! - and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  This coming Friday, the 17th April, 9 of us are going to Myrtleford for their Fun and Friendship Day, and they always hold a wonderful day as well - these days are really something to look forward to!!

We have reverted to our other time for playing, now Easter is over - we arrive at 1.15pm, ready to play at 1.30pm, now the weather is cooler!

I can't stress enough how much fun we have, and I would like to encourage you all to pop in and have a look, and you might just like to give us a go.

See you, Marg Merriman  5762 1404.

From the March newsletter...

2/4/2015

Lifeball started off slowly this year, but by late February most of our regular players had returned as well as newly registered players who had decided to join our ranks.  We welcomed Jan, Dick, Mary, Jean and Freya, who are learning the safety rules under the guidance of coach Rupe, and are enjoying this fun game.

New players are welcome any time at the Indoor Recreation Centre, Mondays at 9.30 a.m. ‘til after Easter, then 1.30 p.m. thereafter.  To make playing conditions more pleasant during the hot months we use the air conditioner.

Our grand veteran, Betty Summers, returned to receive a rousing rendition of `Happy Birthday’ and an appropriate cake to help celebrate her 90th.

Our Secretary, Margie, has sent out invites for our annual `Fun & Friendship’ day to be held on Monday 23rd March. Players from near-by Lifeball clubs in Victoria and southern NSW, Colleen & Brian Lord (the instigators of this marvellous game) and our Benalla players will be in attendance. We expect about 100 participants to attend, so we’ll be using all three courts throughout the day, and our members will provide lunch for an anticipated three sittings.

We know, after previous experiences, this will be a wonderful day. Please come and watch the game—perhaps you will be our next new member!
