The 2016 course will start with the Roman Invasion of Britain and will cover a momentous millennium. The period following the collapse of the Roman Empire was typically portrayed in history text books as the “Dark Ages”, but modern interpretations now portray it in more light. If you were on the receiving end of a Viking raid or on the losing side against the Normans, you might be inclined to support the traditional view!
