All I could think of to contribute to the thoughts on a valued family hand-me-down, was how few I have, how many have been lost, and how much I enjoyed reading through the will of a great-great-uncle; a detailed account of the property in the living room and kitchen. How I would like to nip back in a tardis, and stand in those rooms. The will was available via PROV.
Some of my older siblings have items from forbears, but as the youngest of 7 all I can recall that is in my possession are: an box of my grandmothers, a bell from the shop of a great-aunt, and one saucer from the divided up set of crockery from a great-grandmother. And those 3 people are two sisters and their mother, so I have items only from a small segment of my 'tree'.
I'm sure many wonderful things will come out, hope there is a good turn-up.
