We have been working through the unit for ‘Staying Safer Online’ and have covered:

Safe Passwords

Paying Safely Online

Avoiding Scams and Tricks

Downloading and Saving Documents

During the units presented on the TV screen, there are videos and some interactive tasks and quizzes.

There are also also discussion comments and questions encouraged to further everyone’s knowledge and confidence when using computers, laptops, tablets or smart phones.

'Be Connected'

*Be Connected is U3A Benalla's response to an Australian Government initiative comprising online learning modules which help to make the most out of being online.

'Be Connected' incorporates our 'Tech Advice' program, in which appointment only problem solving sessions provide one to one help to members experiencing problems using their devices,
solving problems in family research or when working on community projects.

U3A Benalla's involvement with 'Be Connected' and 'The Good Things Foundation' results in links to resources and funding opportunities, including for a 'Get Online' event in October each year.
