Family Research is an ideal pursuit during the Covid-19 break – a chance to become immersed in recording and finding family connections on ancestry.com; to get that DNA test; to sort out all those family documents into folders; to write up stories with photographs to go in a family history blog; to finish that family history book for the family. It is wonderful that a new series of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ is now screening on SBS (Tuesdays 7.30 pm). Recommended viewing for group members, it will help to tide us over until we are able to meet again as a group.

Family ResearchFamily Research is a guided self-help group for members who are already working on their family tree. Sessions commence with report backs on ‘pains and gains’ during research over the previous month accompanied by shared problem solving, encourage-ment and ideas for next steps. Presentations by group members and guest speakers provide inspiration and suggestions of different approaches and resources. Stories are also shared each month on topics designed to encourage deeper reflection on our research.
